Shoulder Pain and Smoking

I came across an interesting article regarding the relationship between smoking and pain. It points out that in the population studied (6000 women of Kentucky), those who were smokers had a greater chance of having chronic pain than those who did not. Those who were daily smokers had a greater chance of chronic pain than occasional smokers. Occasional smokers had a greater chance of chronic pain than former smokers.

This information may of relevance in understanding and in managing chronic pain.
