The Prognosis for Improvement in Comfort and Function After the Ream and Run Arthroplasty for Glenohumeral Arthritis: An Analysis of 176 Consecutive Cases - JBJS

The Ream and Run
The JBJS has just published: The Prognosis for Improvement in Comfort and Function After the Ream-and-Run Arthroplasty for Glenohumeral Arthritis: An Analysis of 176 Consecutive Cases. This is a Level II analysis of our results with this procedure as performed between 2000 and 2008.

Based on the results of this study we have been able to improve our patient selection, refine our surgical technique, and modify the rehabilitation program so that the need for revision surgery has dramatically decreased and no additional patients have had their shoulders revised to total shoulders. More details can be found in this recent post.  We have also initiated a prospective study in which all patients having shoulder arthroplasty are invited to participate in a long-term followup investigation.
