We find that changing the name of Propionibacterium to Cutibacterium offers no advantage to shoulder surgeons, rather it just confuses the nomenclature we've been using all along and complicates literature searches.
We hope that journals and academic societies will allow the use of the name Propionibacterium, which is widely recognized by physicians, scientists and many patients.
