Ream and run rehabilitation - the videos

A 54 year old muscular weight lifter had a successful left ream and run. He returned because of a very stiff painful right shoulder.

His postoperative films show the use of a thin humeral head component because of his stiffness and a thin humeral stem because of his cortical hypertrophy.

He has kindly allowed us to show videos of his rehab program at one week after surgery.

The supine stretch

The pulley in flexion

The pulley in abduction

External rotation isometrics

The forward lean

The sleeper stretch

As can be seen at one week after surgery, this man has the intense dedication to the exercise program that is necessary for a successful ream and run.

The rehabilitation program is described in some detail in this link.

Our technique for the ream and run is shown in this link.
