Validation of the Dutch version of the Simple Shoulder Test. JSES

Validation of the Dutch version of the Simple Shoulder Test. - JSES provides yet another independent validation of this simple 12 'yes' or 'no' questionnaire.  In addition to showing a high degree of patient acceptance, internal consistency, and test-retest reliability as well as low measurement error, the SST also showed high correlations with instruments that are more burdensome to complete, such as the Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder, and Hand, the Oxord Shoulder Score and the Constant Score. As the authors demonstrate it can be easily administered in mailed paper form or via the Web (enabling long term followup without the patient needing to return to the office). The long-term use of the SST in clinical followup is demonstrated here.
