Ream and run, first three months.

An active 60 year old man presented with arthritis of his left shoulder.

The axillary view shows the posterior biconcavity.
Because of his active lifestyle, he elected a ream and run procedure. His postoperative x-rays are shown here

His axillary view shows recentering of his humeral head in a concave glenoid.
Recently he sent a 3 month postoperative report:
"Thought a 12 week status report might be helpful, for me at least. Since the 6 week appointment I have been doing 5 stretches 5 times per day.  (Abduction, Cross Body Abduction, Internal Rotation on Side, Internal Rotation up Back, Supine Stretch).  My range of motion is very good and continues to gradually improve.  Looking forward to reaching the turn signal without twinging but expect that to be the case in the next few weeks.  I also have been on the elliptical machine for 30 minutes,  6 days per week (limited use of my left arm) along with walking, hiking and regular life activities.
The chart below shows my weekly SST results."

It is interesting to observe the results of his dedicated rehabilitation program in terms of his Simple Shoulder Test functions.
